John B. Yob is an established Detroit-area architect licensed in the State of
Michigan (# 47746), Ohio (# 15361), Indiana (# 00083) and Florida (#
AR95795).
John has designed and administered the construction of a wide variety of projects
including retirement communities, nursing homes, federal buildings, historic
preservation, commercial, and site and landscape design.
John’s broad experience in new construction, additions, and renovations gives the
ability to provide effective design and construction guidance on a variety of projects
from those with small budgets to ones with more generous budgets. A field-
oriented architect, John knows that understanding the various trades involved in a
project--and the ability to communicate with owners, engineers, and contractors--is
important to keeping a project on budget, meeting Building and Zoning Codes, and
ultimately creating a useful, safe building for everyone.
The drawings created by John are a culmination of listening to the owners,
understanding their needs and goals, and incorporating his experience in
functionality, aesthetics, safety, and costs. The drawings must then communicate
to all involved so they can build their parts correctly.
Memberships include the American Institute of Architects, National Council of
Architectural Boards, Construction Specifications Institute (Construction Documents
Technologist certification), and the Construction Association of Michigan. John is
currently completing work on LEED certification.
The firm is a Certified Wayne County Small Business Enterprise (#SBE10-0035.)
